General culinary and cultural information (what a dish is, how a format works) draws on established, widely corroborated knowledge of Indonesian and Balinese food culture. Time-sensitive business information — addresses, hours, prices, operating status, halal status — is checked against official sources, map listings, or credible travel editorial at the time of writing, and dated.
How local business details are checked
We prioritize sources in this order: a business's own official website or social account; its official Google Business Profile or map listing; government, tourism-board, or certification sources; established local or international editorial coverage; reputable directories; and, only as supporting evidence, user-generated review platforms. How recommendations are selected
Inclusion in a MyWarung guide reflects factors like: relevance to the specific guide, recent evidence that a business is operating, distinctive local dishes, documented longevity or cultural relevance, geographic usefulness, range of budgets covered, and the quality and consistency of available public information. This is a qualitative editorial judgment, not a mathematical ranking system — we don't claim a business is objectively "the best," and inclusion is not an endorsement guarantee.
How corrections can be requested
If you notice outdated or inaccurate information, contact us via our contact page. We prioritize corrections to factual claims (addresses, status, halal categorization) over stylistic feedback.
How sponsored content would be labeled
MyWarung does not currently run sponsored content or sell ranking placement. If that changes, any sponsored or paid inclusion will be clearly and visibly labeled as such on the page where it appears, not disclosed only in fine print.
Review frequency for high-risk facts
Facts with real consequences if wrong — halal status, operating status, and pricing — are reviewed on a rolling basis; see our CONTENT-UPDATE-GUIDE process internally for cadence. Every guide displays a "last reviewed" date so you can judge freshness yourself rather than assuming everything is current.
Why information may change
Businesses close, move, change hours, and update pricing without notice. We treat every published detail as accurate as of its last-reviewed date, not as a permanent guarantee — always confirm directly with a business before making a special trip.
